OpenSound Navigator

Less stress. Remember more. Better hearing

With the new Oticon Opn™, Oticon says that they have introduced groundbreaking technology that is fast enough to support the brain. With precision and accuracy, the new OpenSound Navigator feature analyzes your sound environment and differentiates between the individual sounds. They say that the result is a significant improvement in the ability to understand speech in complex environments while, at the same time, preserving mental energy. It appears from the reviews of the hearing aids that their claims are not unfounded. Oticon says that the new hearing aids will ultimately empower users to Open Up to the World. Opn users are provided with more accurate information making it easier to locate and separate sound sources so they can focus on what they find important. This happens so quickly it facilitates the listener’s ability to change focus when desired. The system gives you 360 degree sound while still ensuring the background does not overwhelm the speech you want to hear. Changing Hearing aids forever, from closing your world to opening it up again

One open sound experience
Three levels of BrainHearing™ support

Opn BrainHearing™ support is delivered by a unique combination of technologies working together to reduce listening effort and provide the brain with better conditions to perform in. The Oticon Opn range was first introduced in three levels of technology, Level 1 which is top of the range, level 2 and level 3. However, with the announcement made during the summer of 2018, it is expected that Opn will be available in five levels of hearing aid technology in late 2018 or early 2019.

All three members of the Oticon Opn™ family provide the open sound experience that is proving so popular. However, each model gives the brain a different level of assistance – a different level of BrainHearing™ support. Oticon has not stopped at that though, they have also expanded the fitting range of the Opn devices and they can now fit even profound hearing losses.

Four Hearing Aid Styles

At present the Oticon Opn is available in four hearing aid types, a newly designed compact miniRITE that sits discreetly on the ear, a rechargeable version of the miniRITE, the MiniRITE-T with a telecoil and the Opn BTE-13 which delivers power and versatility. The Opn range offers a wealth of new features and functionalities all incorporated in sleek and modern designs and is available in a range of colours.

Oticon announced in summer 2018 that they would soon be introducing custom hearing aids to the range. They also announced that the larger custom hearing aids would be Made For iPhone. Hopefully, we will see the new hearing aid styles introduced in late 2018 or early 2019.
